ECUADOR'S AMAZONIAN RAINFOREST: SACHA LODGE III July 1-10, 2008 with Jay VanderGaast. One-site tour to one of the most comfortable lodges in western Amazonia with three of the birdiest and sturdiest canopy platforms anywhere. Limited to 8 participants. May be combined with MONTANE ECUADOR.

AUSTRALIA: KAKADU, KUNUNURRA & CAPE YORK July 6-22, 2008 with John Coons. Off the beaten track for little-known birds and starkly beautiful landscapes in Australia's legendary hinterland, plus a visit to Cape York for all its specialty birds. May be combined with PAPUA NEW GUINEA.

PERUVIAN RAINFORESTS: THE SOUTHEAST July 14-27, 2008 with Rose Ann Rowlett & Dan Lane.  Combines the classic Rio Tambopata reserves with a visit to the new Reserva Amazonica on the Rio Madre de Dios; parrot/macaw lick, Harpy Eagles, and a superb canopy walkway from which the rare Black-faced Cotinga can be seen.  May be combined with MOUNTAINS OF MANU.

ICELAND July 18-27, 2008 with Ned Brinkley. Seabird colonies, landbirds, spectacular scenery, and high-latitude natural history.

GALAPAGOS II July 19-29, 2008 with Alvaro Jaramillo. The remarkable “Enchanted Isles” are even more so close-at-hand and in a small group aboard our comfortable boat. Limited to 12 participants. May be combined with MONTANE ECUADOR.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA July 21-August 12, 2008 (Fiji pre-trip from July 16) with Phil Gregory & Dave Stejskal. Birds-of-paradise, bowerbirds, and one of the world's most remarkable avifaunas against an unrivaled cultural backdrop. May be combined with AUSTRALIA: KAKADU, KUNUNURRA & CAPE YORK and/or NEW CALEDONIA.

PERU'S MARVELOUS ABRA PATRICIA & THE SPATULETAIL July 23-August 3, 2008 with John Rowlett. Bountiful birding on Peru’s lovely Andean east slope, designed for those limited to a short holiday, yet who would like an opportunity to delight in the extraordinary Spatuletail, as well as other rarities and endemics to be sought in small compass. May be combined with MACHU PICCHU & ABRA MALAGA.

MOUNTAINS OF MANU July 26-August 10, 2008 (Machu Picchu Extension to August 13) with Rose Ann Rowlett.  An in-depth transect of the higher-elevation half of the Manu Biosphere Reserve and buffer zone, from treeline through temperate and subtropical forests down to rich upper-tropical zone.  Spectacular scenery along one of the “birdiest” roads in the world.  Limited to 8 participants.  May be combined with PERUVIAN RAINFORESTS.

SUMMER COSTA RICA July 26-August 10, 2008 with Megan Crewe. Resplendent Quetzals, Three-wattled Bellbirds, and Scarlet Macaws in a friendly country with easy travel and good facilities; a wealth of interesting birds and natural history. Limited to 8 participants.

MONTANE ECUADOR II July 28-August 6, 2008 with Mitch Lysinger. Small-group tour for superb subtropical birding while based at lovely San Isidro Lodge, located among the birds of the east slope, plus two days in west slope subtropics. Limited to 8 participants. May be combined with GALAPAGOS.

POUSADA RIO ROOSEVELT, BRAZIL July 30-August 13, 2008 with Bret Whitney. A birding adventure on the remote Rio Roosevelt in the spirit of Teddy himself, as we search for bushbirds, antswarms, and, of course, the unknown. Limited to 8 participants.
