A cool introduction to some lovely Neotropical birds in unsurpassed surroundings, featuring stunning views of Resplendent Quetzal, Three-wattled Bellbird, Dusky Nightjar, and two endemic hummingbirds. May be combined with PANAMA'S CANOPY TOWER. HONDURAS: LAND OF THE EMERALDS March 7-15, 2009 with Jesse Fagan & Rose Ann Rowlett. A must for those northern Central American endemics and the Honduran Emerald! A great country for Neotropical birding with remarkable topography, history, culture, and nearly 300 species of birds. May be combined with GUATEMALA: SHADE-GROWN BIRDING. TAIWAN March 12-22, 2009 with Phil Gregory & local guide. Tour for Taiwan's numerous endemics and specialties. YUCATAN & COZUMEL March 14-23, 2009 with John Coons & local guide. The most interesting birds of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula amidst its majestic Mayan sites and only a short flight from the US. HAWAII March 14-24, 2009 with George Armistead & second guide. Spring in Hawaii, when landbird and seabird activity is at its peak. We visit three of the major islands-Oahu, Kauai, and Hawaiigiving us a chance to sample a great portion of the Hawaiian endemics and the seabird specialties. GUATEMALA: SHADE-GROWN BIRDING II March 15-25, 2009 with Jesse Fagan. Numerous Middle American specialties, among them Resplendent Quetzal, a host of hummingbirds, Azure-rumped Tanager, and a chance for the mythical Horned Guan, set against a dramatic volcanic landscape and colorful Mayan culture. BHUTAN April 3-23, 2009 with Richard Webster. Spell-binding birding amidst awe-inspiring landscapes on a journey through the lush primeval forests and mountains of this "lost" Himalayan kingdom. Tragopans and trogons set against a tapestry of azaleas, magnolias, and rhododendrons that simply has to be seen to be believed. Limited to 9 participants. From Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River to the world famous Luangwa National Park, the magnificent Nyika Plateau, and the Cholo Mountainsall rich in central African endemics. TEXAS COAST MIGRATION SPECTACLE I & II April 11-17, 2009 & April 18-24, 2009 with John Coons. The migration Mecca of High Island plus specialties of the Big Thicket and myriad waterbirds and shorebirds. Limited to 8 participants.
