Alaska, as you realize, is a big place. In addition it is a wonderful destination for the birder with a mix of high Arctic, Bering Sea, boreal forest, and ocean. In order to visit the varied assortment of places that Alaska has to offer, our grand tour is divided into two parts which one can take separately or together. Alaska Part I includes the Pribilof Islands and Denali National park, while Alaska Part II takes us to Nome, Barrow, and the fjords of Seward. Both parts begin in Anchorage, where the boreal forest here may afford us a look at an inquisitive Gray Jay.
