Itatiaia National Park is our first destination of the tour. About 150 kms west of Rio's airport, the park, Brazil's oldest, features mountains lushly draped with Atlantic Forest, a highly threatened and fragmented habitat that is just loaded with regional specialties. Best of all, it's a relatively cool, comfortable, and birdy spot to begin our trip!
