From San Isidro, we bird down the east slope to upper tropical (foothill) elevations, where the rushing water seems to pour from everywhere. This is the zone that is richest for the frenetic mixed flocks of foraging tanagers, for which the east slope is justifiably famous. This gorge along the Loreto road may also host Torrent Ducks and White-capped Dippers.
