The Barbuda Warbler is one of the last single-island endemic birds we encounter on this trip. It was separated as a species a few years ago from the Adelaide's Warbler based on DNA research and its different plumage. Additionally, the way that the Barbuda Warbler cocks its tail when foraging and the pale gray upperparts give it a rather gnatcatcher-like look that neither the Adelaide's nor St. Lucia Warbler shows. The perky nature of this bird and its colorful look add a welcome bit of spark to the dry scrub forests of Barbuda.
